Hello fellow professionals,

Please see below for registration information for the Western Region's upcoming training on school-based behavior intervention plans (BIPs). Unfortunately, we had to close registration last week due to a date conflict that would affect many across the state who wanted to attend. Please note the new training date of August 27th from 9-11am.

Western Region is pleased to have Mari Weiss return for further training on Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). This practical workshop is designed for school psychologists seeking to broaden their skillsets in implementing effective behavior plans following a Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA).

As a follow-on to her previous training on conducting FBAs in the school setting, Ms. Weiss will be presenting on how to develop and implement effective behavior intervention plans (BIPs). She will provide information on such topics as recognizing reinforcement vs. punishment, implementing preventative and teaching strategies, and what to do when the plan isn’t as effective as expected. Ms. Weiss will also provide strategies for working unique populations, such as those experiencing school avoidance or those placed in classroom for students with behavioral challenges.
